Many companies have decided to block access to websites for their employees. This applies to those parties who are not directly related to professional duties and the nature of the work.
It includes them:
- social networking sites;
- thematic websites;
- Internet communicators;
- commercial mailboxes.
This is, of course, understandable. Unrestricted access to network resources can really effectively distract employees from their professional duties. On the other hand, it should be remembered that there are companies whose functioning without unlimited access to the network is impossible. Sending important documents, Internet conferences or access to interesting and valuable websites is a source of great knowledge, which in many companies is simply mandatory.
This is particularly true in the IT, marketing and sales sectors. It should be remembered that not every employee has to use the Internet indefinitely. So it is good to know what will help you avoid unpleasant situations resulting from irresponsible use of your company's computer. When you start working on a company computer, you need to get to know its capabilities, which operating system is installed on it, familiarize yourself with the programs necessary for work, antivirus protection, as well as restrictions on access to the Internet.
It is a good idea to ask for the support of a computer scientist or another person who is familiar with things. It is worth remembering one thing: you must not be ashamed. Asking for help with company matters is not something to be ashamed of. At the very beginning, every employee has to implement themselves in the tools used, as well as the available programs. The help of a person who is familiar with it will save time by nerves, which are usually quite a lot in the initial period of work anyway. Today a computer is an obligatory element of an employee's equipment, it is treated as a basic tool of work. All the more so you should not forget about the so-called netiquette.
